In a dramatic yet calculated turn of events, Israel has decided to hold back from launching heavier strikes on Iran, following a series of U.S.-led military actions that reportedly dismantled Iran’s key nuclear capabilities. According to Steve Witkoff, the Trump administration’s former special envoy to the Middle East, the surgical strikes ordered by former President Donald Trump were not only successful but also strategically decisive.
The airstrikes targeted three crucial Iranian nuclear sites—Isfahan, Natanz, and Fordow—crippling Iran’s capacity to enrich uranium and produce a nuclear weapon. “All three of those had most, if not all, the centrifuges damaged or destroyed,” Witkoff revealed during an interview on The Ingraham Angle, citing raw data assessments by multiple experts. “It will be almost impossible for them to resurrect that program anytime soon.”
Contrary to media narratives downplaying the effectiveness of the strikes, Witkoff firmly dismissed such reports as “completely preposterous.” He also emphasized the gravity of national security leaks, calling the unauthorized release of classified damage assessments “treasonous” and demanding a full investigation.
“This wasn’t about war for war’s sake,” he stated. “President Trump had a clear objective, and once it was achieved, he knew exactly when to step back. His strategic instincts are unlike anything I’ve seen.”
While tensions remain high in the region, the success of the U.S. military operation has prompted a temporary ceasefire, with Israel now backing away from further escalation. Analysts suggest that this move could offer a narrow but vital window for renewed diplomacy, even as skepticism lingers over Iran’s long-term intentions.
