
The music world is mourning the loss of renowned Turkish singer Volkan Konak, who tragically passed away on March 30, 2025, after collapsing during a concert in Cyprus. The beloved artist, often called the “Son of the North,” was performing when he suddenly fell ill. Despite immediate medical attention, he was pronounced dead at 12:42 AM at Famagusta State Hospital.
Reports indicate that emergency responders arrived swiftly, administering CPR for nearly 40 minutes at the concert venue before transferring him to the hospital. Upon arrival, a team of doctors, including cardiology and internal medicine specialists, continued advanced life support efforts for another 25 minutes. However, despite their best attempts, Konak did not respond, and he was declared dead.
The Mayor of Ankara, Mansur Yavaş, paid tribute to the late singer in a heartfelt message on social media. He described Konak as more than just an artist—he was a voice, a heart, and a friend of the land, whose powerful songs carried the rebellious spirit of the Black Sea region.
