Annabelle Isn’t Missing: Viral Rumors Shut Down as Paranormal Experts Confirm Haunted Doll’s Whereabouts

The internet recently spiraled into panic over chilling rumors that the infamous Annabelle doll — said to be possessed and the inspiration behind several horror films — had mysteriously gone missing during a paranormal tour in Louisiana.

The unsettling speculation began shortly after a fire broke out at the historic Nottoway Resort in White Castle, Louisiana. Though there were no injuries reported, online users quickly tied the blaze to Annabelle, claiming the doll had vanished while on display nearby.

Social media platforms, especially X (formerly Twitter), exploded with fear and jokes alike. One user declared, “I’m fleeing the country goodbye,” while another questioned, “They lost Annabelle?? The haunted one??”

To calm the hysteria, Dan Rivera of the New England Society for Psychic Research (NESPR) released a video from the Warrens Occult Museum in Connecticut — the doll’s official resting place. He assured the public that Annabelle was not only safe but had never left the museum for any tour.

Rivera addressed the viral misinformation directly: “Some wild and crazy internet rumors this morning claiming that we lost Annabelle. She/it is NOT lost.” He then showed the doll still sealed inside her protective case.

The Raggedy Ann-style doll, steeped in legend and lore, has long been a focal point of supernatural tales. But despite its terrifying legacy, this particular rumor was just that — a rumor.

So, horror fans can breathe easy… at least for now.
