Born into a family of scholars, Atishi’s passion for learning was nurtured early on. Her parents, Vijay Singh and Tripta Wahi, both Delhi University professors, instilled in her a strong academic foundation. She attended Springdale School in New Delhi, where her curiosity and intellect flourished, paving the way for her future success.
Before stepping into politics, Atishi worked as a history and English teacher at Rishi Valley School in Andhra Pradesh. This hands-on experience gave her valuable insights into the challenges faced by students and educators, shaping her vision for educational reform.
Her expertise led her to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), where she played a pivotal role in overhauling Delhi’s education system. As the city’s Education Minister, she championed policies that improved school infrastructure, teacher training, and student learning outcomes. Beyond education, she has efficiently managed eleven portfolios, including finance, water, and public works, proving her versatility as a leader.
