After a successful theatrical run that quietly turned it into one of 2025’s sleeper hits, the Tamil family drama Tourist Family is all set for its digital debut on Jio Hotstar. Directed by debutant Abishan Jeevinth, the emotional entertainer has struck a chord with audiences for its relatable narrative, warm humor, and stunning performances.
Tourist Family, starring Sasikumar and Simran in lead roles, alongside Mithun Jai Sankar and Kamalesh, tells the story of a Tamil couple navigating life amid the socio-economic turmoil of post-COVID Sri Lanka. However, according to leading industry tracker Christopher Kanagaraj, the film is now set for a midnight premiere on June 6 on Jio Hotstar. While fans are eagerly awaiting the official confirmation, excitement continues to build.
Meanwhile, Jio Hotstar has reportedly postponed the digital release of Malayalam hit ‘Thudaram’, now likely to arrive in early June.
