Bhubaneswar Following her claimed connections to arrested vlogger Jyoti Malhotra, the family of a 21-year-old Puri-based YouTuber has publicly declared that the country comes first, even more important than family, in the light of an intensifying espionage inquiry.
Security agencies are investigating Malhotra, who was arrested in Haryana on Saturday for reportedly giving Pakistani agents vital information. Malhotra is thought to have interacted with the young content producer.
The travel vlogger, who started her YouTube journey in July 2020 and currently has around 14.5k followers, asserted that her association with Malhotra was limited to online content collaboration. “I am shocked by the news. I had no idea about any such activities. If the agencies need any assistance, I will fully cooperate. My loyalty lies with my country. Jai Hind,” she posted on social media.
Her family echoed similar sentiments. “India comes first, always. If our granddaughter is found guilty of any anti-national activity, strict action must be taken,” said her grandfather. They maintained that she is innocent but welcome scrutiny if it serves national interest.
She has been told to stay in Puri while the inquiry is ongoing, and police have confiscated her laptop and cell phone for forensic analysis. Numerous images showing her with Malhotra at other locations, including Pahalgam, are reportedly being examined, according to police sources.
On Sunday, a group of police officers questioned the YouTuber and her family at their home. The family’s patriotic position has garnered public attention as the country closely monitors them, demonstrating a strong confidence in due process and national integrity.
