
The Padma Awards 2025 winners, who were chosen by the Ministry of Home Affairs, honor 139 people for their exceptional work in a variety of sectors. President Droupadi Murmu approved this year’s honors, which comprise 13 posthumous awardees, 10 foreigners or NRIs, and 23 women. Thirty of these have received recognition in the category of Literature and Education.
The prestigious Padma Vibhushan, India’s second-highest civilian award, will be posthumously conferred on renowned writer MT Vasudevan Nair from Kerala for his exceptional contributions to education and literature. Other Padma Vibhushan recipients include notable figures like Justice (Retd.) Jagdish Singh Khehar, Sharda Sinha, and Osamu Suzuki.
The Padma Bhushan, awarded for distinguished service of a high order, will be conferred on Bibek The prestigious Padma Vibhushan, India’s second-highest civilian award, will be posthumously Debroy, A Surya Prakash, and Rambahadur Rai under the Literature and Education category.
Meanwhile, the Padma Shri, celebrating distinguished service in any field, will be awarded to 27 individuals in Literature and Education, including Anil Kumar Boro, Gita Upadhyay, Ramdarash Mishra, Nagendra Nath Roy, and Sheen Kaaf Nizam, among others.
The ceremonial presentation of these awards will take place at Rashtrapati Bhavan in March or April, celebrating the contributions of these luminaries to India’s cultural and intellectual legacy.
