Maharashtra’s government has announced sweeping reforms in the school education system in a transformative move to bolster cultural identity and education quality. A standout initiative mandates the daily singing of the state anthem, Jaya Jaya Maharashtra Majha, alongside the national anthem in school assemblies. Education Minister Dadaji Bhuse emphasized that this measure aims to nurture a sense of pride in Maharashtra’s heritage and geography among students.

The reforms also include adopting a CBSE-aligned curriculum tailored to Maharashtra’s context, introducing a school ranking system, and setting a 100-day roadmap for significant quality improvements. Smart classrooms will be established in cluster schools statewide, enhancing learning through technology.

A notable innovation involves geo-tagging Anganwadi and pre-primary schools to bring much-needed regulation to early childhood education, aligning it with the National Education Policy.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis highlighted the importance of inclusivity, urging efforts to tap into the potential of government school students and recognize exemplary teachers. Plans to optimize social responsibility funds aim to improve infrastructure, while bicycle distribution schemes will boost rural attendance. Furthermore, the government seeks to integrate migrant children into mainstream education, ensuring no child is left behind in the quest for a better future.
