This year it is a celestial coincidence that both Women’s Day and Shivratri are on the 8th March.
The numeral 8 when pivoted 90° clockwise turns into the image of infinity. This is perhaps the most appropriate way for perceiving the endless versatility of women and their remarkable resilience in the face of personal, societal and global challenges. Also which supports and nurtures lives.
Ardhanareshwar is one of the most impressive symbols of Lord Shiva who converges with his partner Parvati, creating a form that was half-man and half-women. It addresses the concordance between the male and female aspects of the universe. Lord Shiva, the greatest divine being, realizes that he is incomplete without his soul mate, Shakti.
On this sacred day when we celebrate the Maha Shivratri and Women’s day, I’m helped to remember the significant effect our wonderful source has had on individuals and I want to believe that they comprehend the worth that women bring to our lives.
