Akshay Kumar’s ‘Sky Force’ Takes Off with a Promising Start

002 21

Akshay Kumar is back in the spotlight with Sky Force, his most successful opening in years. The film collected an impressive ₹11.25 crore on its first day, offering a much-needed boost to the actor’s career after a string of underwhelming releases. Made on a modest budget of ₹160 crore, Sky Force is already drawing attention for its strong start.

Akshay’s last major solo hit was Sooryavanshi (2021), which earned ₹293 crore globally. However, his recent projects, including Mission Raniganj, Raksha Bandhan, and Samrat Prithviraj, failed to make a mark at the box office. While his cameo in Singham Again and Stree 2 contributed to their massive success, Sky Force gives Akshay the chance to shine as a lead once again.

The film, directed by Sandeep Kelwani and Abhishek Kapur, tells the gripping story of India’s first and deadliest airstrike during the 1965 India-Pakistan War. Akshay plays KO Ahuja, an Indian Air Force officer on a mission to locate his missing comrade, played by newcomer Veer Pahariya. With powerful performances by Nimrat Kaur and Sara Ali Khan, Sky Force promises an engaging blend of action and emotion.

As comparisons to Hrithik Roshan’s Fighter arise, Sky Force is well on its way to reclaiming Akshay Kumar’s box office dominance.
